Mini-Plastic Surgery

"Patients frequently come to the office looking for "mini-plastic surgery" like a "mini-facelift" or a "mini-tummy tuck." I believe what they are interested in are fewer and smaller scars. There are specific procedures that have the word "mini" in them and they have very specific indications. For instance, the MACS lift, or Minimum Access Cranial Suspension lift, is a "mini-facelift" especially useful for middle aged women with a moderate amount of submental laxity (turkey gobble) and blunted cervicomental angle. In other words, it's not for everyone. The same goes for the mini-abdominoplasty (mini-tummy tuck). It is a great procedure with very few indications.
Lately, patients have been bombarded by marketing ploys and catch-phrases that claim a great deal but can rarely deliver. An ethical plastic surgeon should be able to discuss all options with patients even if it means having nothing done at all." Dr. Freiman

Breast Augmentation - Saline vs. Silicone

"I'm often asked, "which is better...saline or silicone?" The answer is neither is better. Each has its risks and benefits and there is a correct implant for each person. A great deal goes into the consultation including but not limited to the location of the implant, the feel and look postoperatively, implant placement, the size of the implant, and the patient's anatomy. It is a very personal choice and hopefully after discussing all of the facts, you will decide on the perfect implant for you. I also use the Vectra machine which can help by taking a 3 dimensional picture and simulating what you could look like postoperatively."
